Prof. Ye Qi, a leading expert on China’s environmental policy, is a senior fellow and director of the Brookings-Tsinghua Center for Public Policy (BTC) in Beijing. His research focuses on China’s policies on climate change, environment, energy, natural resources, and urbanization. His recent work examines low carbon development in China, including an annual report analyzing how China is balancing its economic growth and environmental challenges. Qi also headed up the design of China’s first low carbon development plan, for the city of Baoding in Hebei Province.

Along with his duties as BTC director, Qi serves as the Cheung Kong Professor of Environmental Policy and Management at Tsinghua University’s School of Public Policy and Management.


Tom Baumann is the founder and co-chair of the Climate Chain Coalition, co-chair of the INATBA Climate Action WG (International Association of Trusted Blockchain Applications), co-chair of the Hyperledger Climate Action & Accounting Special Interest Group, former international chair (2014-2019) of ISO’s climate change standards committee, former chair (2009-2014) of the IEEE PES climate change technology committee, researcher at the Blockchain Research Institute, as well as co-founder of several start-ups including Xpansiv, Adaptation Ledger, ClimateCHECK, GHG Management Institute, Collaborase, and NovaSphere.

Dr Jemma Green is a cofounder and chairman of www.powerledger.io, a technology company that uses the blockchain to facilitate energy trading, energy asset financing and carbon markets. Setting her career trajectory early on, Dr Green became the voice of sustainability and corporate social responsibility in the business of big money lending while at J.P. Morgan in London. She then went on to become a research fellow at Curtin University, was Deputy Lord Mayor of Perth, set up the first fossil fuel free pension fund‎ and has sat on numerous boards championing sustainable business such as Carbon Tracker and Climate-KIC Australia. In 2016 Jemma cofounded Power Ledger which won Sir Richard Branson’s Extreme Tech Challenge. In 2018 Jemma was made EY Fintech Entrepreneur of the Year.

Alexey Shadrin: Alexey is a serial sustainability-oriented entrepreneur and public speaker. He has 9+ years of C-level experience in bridging impact investing & digital technologies.Within the Russian Carbon Fund, DAO IPCI and Evercity Alexey worked on numerous digitalization projects for sustainability with leading multinationals and such partners as Olympic Games and FIFA Championship. Alexey currently holds the position of finance group leader at the UNFCCC-backed Climate Chain Coalition as well as active membership in several international associations.

Margaret-Ann Splawn FRGS, Executive Director at Climate Markets and Investment Association. Margaret-Ann has an active Observer status providing private sector expertise to board decision making at the UN Green Climate Fund & World Bank’s Climate Investment Funds and Forest Carbon Partnership Facility Max Song is entrepreneur in Hong Kong with a focus on using finance and technology to create sustained social impact,specifically in the area of climate change action. He was formerly a data scientist in Silicon Valley, Paris, and New York, where he helped perform analysis for a Fortune 10 financial institution to satisfy regulatory requirements. He graduated from Brown University with a ScB in Applied Maths. He was the youngest Teaching Fellow at Singularity University, founded the startup accelerator while at Brown University, started a machine-learning camera startup with his Brown professor, and was part of the first class of the Schwarzman Scholars (at Tsinghua University) created by Steve Schwarman of Blackstone, where he wrote his masters thesis on US/China green investments. He worked in HK for 2 family offices, before starting Carbonbase. He also founded the non-profit Global Solutions Festival in 2017, when he was at Schwarzman College, to promote social impact problem solving centric around the UN SDG Goals. To date, GSF has organized three large annual events and is planning some events in HK as well (Globalsolutionsfestival.org).
